This year was Jr's third year to hunt New Mexico Merriam Turkey with us and he loved every minute of it! This Tom and another were gobbling a canyon over from us so we grabbed all our gear and headed their way. We were on top of the ridge spotting to find the best set up when this Tom topped out 20 yards in front of us. We decided quickly that he was a mature Merriam Tom and took him since these were the first gobbles we had heard in a day and a half.
